This was a commercial water loss in Middleton, Wisconsin. A Verona, WI residence had a sump pump fail causing extensive loss. Over a foot of rain in six hours on August 20 caused the pump to fail consequently flooding the basement and ruining fifteen hundred feet of carpet. SERVPRO of Dane County West mitigated the water damage by removing the carpet and pad, removing baseboard and drilling holes in the drywall to allow ventilation into drywall. We positioned fans and dehumidifiers to reduce moisture content to acceptable levels.

Visible mold growth was found on the concrete walls and wood subfloor of this basement room in Fitchburg, WI.  We remediated the mold and disinfected the area thoroughly.  We instructed the home owner to increase air circulation and to use dehumidification to prevent any further microbial growth.

We were called out to this residence in New Glarus, WI, because heavy rains caused seepage into the original part of the house causing water damage to this three-season porch that a builder was in the process of adding. One of the unique ways we dealt with this loss was by coming from the outside of the house and cutting away some sheathing to remove wet blown-in insulation. We also needed to dry hardwood floors and used a tenting method as seen in the after picture to dry the hardwood floors. This technique allowed us to save the hardwood floors.

Due to extensive water damage from a broken supply line in this kitchen in Oregon, WI, existing cabinets were damaged beyond repair. We needed to remove and replace the granite countertops as well as provide and install several new kitchen cabinets. This was a broken spigot in Fitchburg, WI due to subzero temperatures during this past winter. Upon attempting to fill their pool the owner’s basement flooded with water. This is a fire that started in an apartment behind a popular restaurant in Verona. The apartment structure was a total loss but the restaurant was affected by both smoke damage and water damage from the fire hoses. We are working to make sure that the restaurant structure is cleaned and repaired so they can reopen as soon as possible.

We are using Air Filtration Devices (AFD) as well as hydroxyl generators to both clean the air and remove as much odor as possible.

This is a water loss in Middleton due to a spigot that had split during sub-zero temperatures this past winter. Often times these problems are not discovered until the spring when the homeowner turns on their hoses to start watering plants and lawn. Water ran down through the ceiling and down the walls and affected the flooring in the basement. SERVPRO of Dane County West Professionals removed the affected flooring to dry the subfloor below and removed the drywall in the wall due to the blown in insulation behind it. Once blown in insulation gets wet it compresses and loses its effectiveness. Rebuild is in process.

This was a water loss in Oregon, Wisconsin. A walk-in shower had cracks in the grout lines leading to water leaking through the shower pan and into the ceiling and room below.
